How To Make Rice Krispy Treats!

In my family, these are definitely my number 1 request desserts to bring for a party! These are gone in minutes lol. Once you have one, you will soon keep going back for more, they are so addicting!  These are by far the easiest, quickest desserts to make, the recipe is right on the box! but for mine, I add a little extra love that make them a bit more special. And by love, I mean extra butter and extra marshmallows, lol. Enjoy!!!

What You Need:

*6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal

*1 bag Mini Marshmallows plus 1/2 of a 2nd bag. ( I always add the extra 1/2 bag for extra gooeyness!)

*1 stick of butter, ( my little secret.. I include another 2-3 tablespoons of extra butter, lol you’ll thank me for this, its sooo bad, but ah it makes it taste even better!)wpid-20151017_132108.jpg

Step 1. First thing I like to do is prep my cake pan by spreading butter all over, don’t get shy with the butter, this is very important to prevent your crispy treats from sticking to the pan.

Step 2: Cube your butter and add to a large saucepan, melt over a low to medium heat, stirring until it is completely melted. After your butter is melted, with your burner still on a low to medium heat,  begin to add the mini marshmallows. Stir the marshmallow and butter mix together until you get a creamy, lump free mixture. It is very important to keep stirring until all is melted down to prevent mix from burning.

Step 3: Now that you have your creamy, melted marshmallow/butter mixture, you can now TURN OFF your heat and begin to add your 6 cups of cereal. Stir the cereal together with the marshmallow mixture until everything is incorporated.

Step 3: Once all is mixed, you are now ready to pour the rice crispy mixture into your greased pan. Spread the mixture evenly into the pan with a spoon and press down  firmly with your hands. Let your krispies sit in the pan and cool completely for at least a good hour before cutting.

These treats are so delicious! and the best part about them is that you can change them up by adding food dye to the marshmallow mixture to give some color or using a different brand of cereal or flavored marshmallows! Pictured below are a few different sets of treats I have made in the past. You can form them into your own color theme and desired flavors.
