Homemade Vanilla Syrup

Hi my sweets! I’m so excited to share with you guys this recipe I tried out yesterday for a homemade vanilla syrup! And let me tell you guys, this stuff is GOOD! I was instantly hooked lol, if you love coffee like me, this is a must have to have on hand for those days you want to add some vanilla sugar sweetness to your coffee. This DIY recipe is so simple and super delish! I cannot wait to add this syrup to my homemade iced coffees, be sure to look out for a future post on a DIY version of an iced caramel macchiato where I will definitely be using this vanilla syrup in!

Here is what you will need:

1 & 1/3 cup sugar 1 cup water 2 tablespoons vanilla extract

•In a medium sized sauce pan, combine your 1 cup of water and 1 & 1/3 cups of sugar. Using a medium/low heat, allow the mixture to come to a boil and for all of the sugar to dissolve, stir occasionally.

•Once all of  the sugar has dissolved, your mixture should look translucent just like this

•At this stage, it is now time to turn off the heat and add in your 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract.

stir until all is combined. Be careful, the mixture is very hot!

•allow the syrup to cool completely before transferring it into your jar. I love using these mason jars with a lid! You want to use a jar that you can securely seal with a lid, and store inside the fridge to maintain its freshness.
